Scroll down towards the bottom, there's a link to painted interior panels. All of my interior except for the kick panels and the trim around the hatch are painted black and have red accents.

Re: Painted Interior Pieces
i got some questins for you guys.
first of all. damn. it looks good. a far cry from what i accomplished.
now, my question are as follows:
1.what sand paper did you use? i used 600 and 800, and its really weak.
2.what brand of primer did you use? i used a spray on, which sucked.
3.what paint did you use? i used auto zone paint, which sucked as well.
4.how much did it cost you? just a rough estimate.
thank you.

Re: Painted Interior Pieces
I painted my friends in gunmetal. I used 400 grit to 800 wet, then plastic adhesion promotor (spray can, 2 coats each piece). Then some gunmetal wheel paint by duplicolor I had left over (3 coats each piece). If I bought everything new it would have cost me around 15-20 bucks, and it would be enough to do the radio bezel, door handle bezels, and A/C vent bezels.
By the way do, 2 light coats to get the base down the one final coat to smooth out and fill the surface.
Also work with one piece at a time so you don't overwelm yourself painting all the pieces at once

Re: Painted Interior Pieces
1. I didn't sand mine. I cleaned it really well with alcohol and elbow grease. I cleaned until nothing came off, which took a while.
2. Used 5-6 coats of Krylon Fusion 2328 Red Pepper.
3. Then 4-5 coats of Dupli-Color T125 Clear Coat.
4. I didn't write down the cost seeing as it was just a few cans of paint. Couldn't have been more than $20 cash and lots of labor and waiting.
I did it one piece at a time. I took my time and it took a few months to be "complete". I started in June of '03, ended in Sept. It look just as good now as it did then.
Parts painted:
All six speaker grills (these were a bitch, getting all of the glue off the backside and cutting the fronts off of the door panel)
Door Handle Bezels
Radio Bezel
Ash Tray
Around instrument gauges
Around Air vents
side defogging vents
Hood and Hatch Struts

Re: Painted Interior Pieces
Check out my Webshots Camaro page. First, I tried white...I got tired of it and did chameleon magenta/orage. Then it looked like crap, so I painted them hugger orange. I love it now.
I didn't sand anything at all. Instead, I just did 3 thick coats of base coat and the finish is just as smooth. Then topped it off with a clear coat for shine. Looks good.

My interior
Thats my work. I did sand the crap out of everything but after reading this and seeing everyone else's work i'm starting to wonder if that was a waste of time. Eh, I like how it turned out nonetheless.
