Paint Job Problem

I have had my front end on my 1999 firebird repainted 4 times now in the past year and the paint is flaking off in the same spot again. I have taken it to the same guy each time and he fixes it for me but then it just starts flaking again.

it starts on the passenger side where the running light is on the corner of the light is where it starts flaking. I'll take a picture of it tonight when I get home.

anyone have any idea why this keeps happening. I just wanna figure out if I am getting a crappy job done or if I am causing it somehow.

does anyone else have this problem?

When my front bumper was painted, the shop used a special primer that bites into the fiberglass so it doesn't spider web.

the body shop that I have always used , well the owner who does all my work their said that he just guesses that he didn't primer it like he should have. but like I said it keeps flaking in the same spot for the 5th time now. and I have to be without my car for like 3 days each time he repaints it.

firebirdjosh can you tell me what kind of primer you used that sounds like it would help a lot if my guy is not using it.

Flaking paint is usually improper prep or incompatible paint/primer. But, I would think your body shop guy would be aware of both and "fix" the problem espeically after he had to redo it the first time

I would think that he would know what the problem is too, but since it has happened so many times I figured I would do some research and see what works best and what he is doing. because somthing is definatly wrong
