The paint came off the little triangle outside my car, the triangles that are by the door windows. I know I'm not the only one with this problem. What paint did you guys use to repaint this piece.....Also, does anyone know the part # for this piece?

 

The parts catalog shows the whole roof panel as one piece. You're best bet is to get the paint code then the paint to match.

 

sorry, I'm talking about this part on my vert. I'm pretty darn sure the triangle is a separate piece.

 

Yeah, that piece should be on all of our cars. I have the same issue with it fading so I'm interested in changing/painting it too.

 

You might want to try to order some vinyl overlays from Brent. He makes them to go over these triangles and you can add logos ontop as well to dress it up. The link is: http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/vinyl/vinyl.htm they are about 2/3 of the way down the screen.

That would be the cheapest bet for you because on the convertible those pieces are way expensive.

I'll move this to the Appearance Section. Try a search there too because I posted the part numbers for them a month or so ago if you really do want to order a set

 

They also make a 3D domed decal for this, it isnt like regular decals....

I bought the one in the 2nd link but had him put a red chevy bowtie instead of the chrome Z/28 logo

 

I'm just sandblasting mine and coating them with carbon fiber & epoxy so it wont come off like the decals could.

Dont worry- this problem is common... REALLY common.

 

The decals will come off someday as all decals do, But they are rated for 5 yrs. The onyl reason I got them is because they are 3D domed and they look damn great, Everyone says how good they look and I havent even told them I put them on...

Plus the decals are cheaper...

 

I do carbon fiber myself... I've got maybe $8 into it and a little time

 

I have no problems with mine. 5 1/2 yrs of sun and it's still shines! All you need to do is buff it with some paint cleaner or polish if you see if starting to dull. Piece of cake!

 

Mine are 10 years old and still shine like glass. Nano wax is great.

So would this carbon fiber sail panel look decent on our cars? Im not a huge fan of the carbon fiber look, but it seems to me that its dark enough to possibly look decent. Anyone have pictures from a distance?
