It's a friend of friends car, it isnt som

 

its an LT1 but it has ls1 front clip conversion.... so I don't know how much help it will be....

I think the color your trying to find is the factory 96/97 medium orange with white stripes on the SS Camaro. I'm not sure if chevrolet ever offered this combo on more than the SS. I've seen one (not sure if it was painted by chevrolet or the owner), but you will usually see the other combo white with the orange SS stripes on a 96/97 camaro. They never made an orange 93 thru 97 T/A, 98 thru 02 would be a SOM (Sunset Orange Metallic).

 

There were only two '97 Camaros in orange, and they were aftermarket specialty cars. Hugger orange was only offered in 1999 on Camaros only, not Pontiacs. Sunset orange metallic was offered 2001 to 2002. 13 2000 Camaros were also painted in this color at the very end of the 2000 production cycle.

 

The only LT1 cars that received orange were the 97 30th anniversary cars, and those were white with orange stripes.

That's not a stock color. Looks aftermarket.

That's not a stock color either, but WOW does it look nice! I wouldn't mind seeing a Camaro in that paint scheme.

 

That ls1 with the gray/black stripes looks like stock SOM to me...

 

its actually PPG Prowler Flame Orange Pearl..... I love it although I cant find a paint code for it... I wrecked it and need to paint a new fender bumper cover and headlight skin.....
