Question Opinions on getting rid of door guard...

What do you guys thing about taking the dent protector strip thing (you know the strip in the middle of the car that protects the door from getting nicked by other doors) off of a 4th gen (like my 94 for example) filling it in and making it smooth. Yeah or nay? I am painting my car electon blue soon and need to decide.

I took em off of my 94 t/a, when i repainted it and i really like how it looks without them. it is more clean looking. i also removed the trans am emblems too. we dont have to worry about getting dents in the doors anyway since they are SMC. i say remove em.

Yeah, I never understood the point since our doors aren't metal (besides just protecting it from small chips in the paint or something). Did you fill in where it was? Do you have any pics? If anyone does I would love to see them. Thanks!

Arrow

I was pretty sure it left a little groove there(molded into the door) where the strip went. I could be wrong.

Brent, those stripes look awesome! The yellow would look awesome with black stripes, roof, mirrors, headlight area, etc...)

yeah, it leaves a groove. i have mine removed and it looks good. i never thought of having the grooves filled though, it should look pretty awesome, but then you have to repaint.
