Re: Ooops, if only insurance would cover stupidity.
TIIIIIIME for an update... so close to being done i decided to drive it. still needs some wet sanding and buffing but it's looking pretty good so far.

if you'll notice, my antenna shave turned out simply stunning. i definitely am glad i decided to do that.

it's just water. don't freak out.

dunno if you can tell, but it's shiny, but not perfect. i want to end up with pretty much mirror finish, show quality. i've got a lot of work to get it that far though. i had to wash it again. as you have seen i did all my work around a gravel lot. well, a soon as i washed it a co-worker pulled up in a truck and made a huge cloud of dust that swallowed my car.
oh well. had to make sure the paint would hold up. what better way than with a pressure wash

thought i'd make some of these. i like 'em. i have one for the driver side as well but i need to clean some overspray off before i apply it. you can see in this picture the finis quality i'm looking for. that's almost perfect, sad part is that it took about 3 hours for that one part of that one quarter.

Its all in the prep now bro. There's more BLING that can come out of that car lol Looking good! you still going to powder coat the rims? maybe try that pastic dip paint stuff and see how they look black.
Re: Ooops, if only insurance would cover stupidity.
FML. get out to car to go to work. start car up. rumble rumble rumble. running good. put parking brake down. bluh. dies. no more spark. stuck at home without a flashlight. someone shoot me. i think i'm gonna be late for work. like hours late. but... i did think about the plastidip for the wheels. would i need to dismount the tires? how much does it cost on average?
Re: Ooops, if only insurance would cover stupidity.
Is your rocker panel on the passenger side dented in? I can't tell. It looks like it is in two pics. I think with some polishing, the paint will hopefully get some more luster.
Re: Ooops, if only insurance would cover stupidity.
yes it is, but i don't know how you managed to see that. i think you might be seeing a shadow maybe. i wish i had a real camera. and yeah. it's gonna take some more work. the dent is just a small one about half way down. i can barely see it standing here. it's pretty much under the car. you have to bend over to see it. i'll try to snap a pic of it real quick
