Nick in My Ground Effects Piece

Washing the IROC the other night and I noticed some white strands on my rag. Wiped some more and saw more white strands. I looked at my lower ground effects behind passenger front tire and there was a small chunk missing. My car is black and the hole is surrounded in white fiberglass. Is there a way to stop the flaking? Should I just brush or spray can paint it to prevent any more loss of fiberglass? Is there a fiberglass repair kit of some sort?

You can buy fiberglass repair kits at Lowes/Home Depot, in the paint section.
