Exclamation new tire appearance? please help!

quick question....?

when you purchase new tires aren't they suppose to be clean?

i went to go look at some new tires i'm suppose to pay for (only 2 are in) and they mounted them on my new wheels...i know the tread can get dirty from pushing them around the shop or whatnot, but the complete tire including the sidewalls look like they've been flipped down a dirt road. they aren't muddy necessarily. they are however quite dirty?

i was told from someone else that there is sometimes a residue inside the tire that is pushed out that can lead to a brown film that sometimes covers the tire....i've seen that and this is worse.

i don't want to complain but the tires and rims i plan to pay for aren't cheap. two of the tires came with chunks taken out of them and had to be returned and exchanged. the other two were mounted on my rear wheels and look like this?

that and when i got there to look at what they had someone had put a dirty rim box right on top of the new chrome without covering it. i didn't get to look at them close but i'm not going to pay for them if they are scratched. they come from the factory with covers over the top of the chrome and they are in a box.

i hate to sound like a jerk, but 4,000 for rims and tires is alot. what would you do?

The way I see it is, if you are paying good money for "new" parts. Then you should expect something without flaws. If the parts are not up to par, then walk away. As soon as the seller starts realizing their losing sales, things will change or they go outta business.

I don't know if you're buying from mom and pop shop or a big company, but regardless customer service should be the top priority.

IMHO of course

well it's from a large national chain! they have always been good to me in the past.

we'll see on monday what happens when i can talk to someone who is incharge.

if the tires clean up and which ever rim is scratched is replaced then i won't have a problem. i haven't paid yet so i'm not to worried about it.
