New guy with some questions

Hey y'all,

I'm new here, and I was wondering if anyone out there with any kind of ground effects (especially the factory '96-'97 RS guys; that's what i'm considering) has any problems with speed bumps/rough roads/whatever. If I get the body kit, I don't plan to lower my car. I don't want to go over a bump, hear a loud ripping sound, and find half my car on the ground behind me.

Also, if anyone knows of anyplace I can get custom seats made cheap, I'd appreciate it. I want to try to keep my factory cloth seats, but I'd also like to have the houndstooth inserts they put in the 30th Camaros, but without the logos (I just bought a black '94 T-Top Z28; no pics yet!). And I'd also like to see if I could get the houndstooth made to replace my cloth door pannel...so many mods, so little cash...

I bow to your supreme knowledge...
Nightwave.

If you don't plan on lowering you should be fine.

Lowering the car with the Eibach sportline kit hasnt been a problem the ground effects but the exhaust...well thats a diff story...gotta be extra careful, now that was with the stock 16" rims, im not sure about 18s because i havent gotten my car back from the shop so i never got to try it yet. As for custom seats, any good upholstery shop, but if you choose to go leather leatherseats.com provided alot of the guys on this board with some nice lookin custom seats cover replacements

My car is very low...

There are several places I just can't go with it. So, I adjust my driving style and even where I eat when I'm in that car. LOL!

I'm not sure if www.leatherseats.com can do what you are wanting but I know they make a good seat of leather seat covers for our cars.

I have the same body kit as Brent... But my shocks and springs are stock height...
Because of how low the front lip goes, wings west makes a bigger "spoiler" to bring air to your radiator... (look under the front of your car, you'll see it)
so, my BODY KIT doesn't scrape at all, but that big scoop is about 2 inches lower to the ground than stock and it scrapes and bumps ALL THE TIME.

I actually meant to ask brent if he got that bigger "spoiler" for his car. because i was wondering about it the other day because i know his is lowered.... (kind of funny that i came accross this)

but like brent said, you have to adjust your daily driving style... work the angles over bumps go slow through some intersections... do 3mph over railroad tracks etc.

I even have to take an alternate route to work... but it only takes five extra minutes.

well worth it though, well worth it.

leatherseats.com --- I am going to get seat covers from them eventually, they look like very good quality

right now it's "go" before "show" for me though, so that will be a while.

guitardedjf, yes, I am using the supplied larger front air dam. That is actually a REQUIREMENT when installing these ground effects. Without that larger air dam your car will most likely overheat!
