New 1500 Series Rubber backed Replacement Carpet from F-BodyCarpet.com
I apologize for not having the photos up tonight. I am having a problem uploading them to the website due to the server being down. They will be up ASAP.
Now to answer some of your questions:
Bawls:
The carpet is maybe 5 lbs heavier than the factory Carpet is due to my carpet being thicker and denser. This does help keep the noise down a little. The padding does little for sound deadening. It is the rubber backing that acts as a sound absorber. The best thing to due is add some type of sound deadening material like Dynamat Extreme under my carpet for most sound deadening. I used 2 boxes in my SS but added 40 lbs.
After the photos are up you will be able to see how the padding was removed and reused. This padding is known as “jute” in the upholstery world. It is cheap and easy to obtain nearly anywhere. So if your padding is not reusable you will have access to a cheap replacement.
As far as the floor mats and other carpet accessories are concerned. Yesterday we patterned out the new floor mats for the 3rd and 4th gen F-Bodies. I added a lot more surface area to all the mats. I added more carpet surface to the front mats as well as extending the floor mat material to go more than 5 inches under the front seats for those who put their feet under the front seats when seated in the back. I also patterned out a mat for the area behind the back seat. I saw one at the Super Chevy Show this weekend that looked nice but was just a rectangle piece of mismatched carpet and some custom embroidery on it. The one we patterned will fit exactly in the hatchback area, be available with embroidery, and use the same colored 1500 series carpet that the rest of your F-Body will be fitted with.
One thing I still need from everyone is logos that they want to have available on the floor mats. The only one I have so far is the 35th anniversary logo. Please send me some logos. I need to get these digitized ASAP.
Thank you for the offers to go to Dalton, GA. I have found a convertible to get test fitted.

All i really need is a very detailed image file like Bitmap or Jpg. The digitizer I have wants me to print the logos out on photo glossy paper and i have to FedEx them to him. It has worked great so far so i will do as he asks.
SSmokybear, my 4th-gen hardtop is available if you still need somebody. I'm about 45 minutes from Dalton and am available any time (was laid off last month and would dearly love something to do. I'm going crazy from boredom.) Am sending you email with contact info.
Ok here are the photos I promised. However I must apologize for the way I have to display them to you for the weekend. Between the server and the webmaster being MIA this is the only way for me to let you all view them in the mean time. As soon as they are put up on the website I will notify you all.
In regards to the photos themselves; I took more than 100 pictures showing the removal, cutting, and installation of the new 1500 series carpet. Then at the very end the batteries on the camera went dead. I was beside myself when this happened. I did get a couple of shots of the carpet installed though.
I will admit there were two areas that needed further attention on the mold itself. Those will be addresses on Monday morning. This means the 4gen carpet WILL be available within the next two weeks pending another install on this vehicle. Nothing gets sold until I say it is ready for a show car.
Floor mats will be made and sent to me next week as well as a carpet accessory item for the hatchback area. I still need logos too.

For anyone that might be wondering Tom is a real person.
I went by his place today to meet him. After talking with him and looking at some of his work that he has there I put in an order on a new carpet for my SS. And from the description he gave me (did not have any to see) I also ordered his new floor mats and the rear deck mat. They will be covering much more then the stock ones and the aftermarket ones that I have now. I also was able to look at a carpet for a Caprice that was there. It's easily twice as thick as the stock carpet we get. If things work out right the carpet will be installed around the 27th of this month. I'll post up before and after pictures and some of the install pictures also. The cost of the carpet is $349 but if it's anything like the Caprice one I saw this is a steal. Will update everyone when the carpet is installed.

Hey guys!!!
Well the time is near. The mold will be done on Friday and the two test cars will be fitted with their new carpet by next weekend.
The floor mats have been patterned and a proto-type set is on its way to me in San Diego.
I have more than ten logos that are getting digitized for the mats. However I need to know what the dimensions are for these logos. I need the width and height of any and all logos you guys have in your cars now. If you can please send me a picture of the logos with a ruler measuring the dimensions of the different logos. I will need any and all picture and dimensions you guys can send me. This includes the Camaro logo, the Camaro SS logo, Chevy Bowtie logo, and as I stated before any other logos you already have on your floor mats.
Thanks and I will be posting more about the carpet and accessories in the next few days.
Ohh yeah I will be looking for a 97 and newer F-Body for my inventory of vehicles. I talked the Mrs. into getting rid of the Monte Carlo SS. Anyone have a nice one they want to sell???

I do have the logos from Brent. However I need to know exact how big the embroidery should be on the floor mats themselves. So I am looking for anyone who has a set of floor mats with that and any other embroidery to measure them so I can accurately replicate the sizes.
Tom, I sent you an mail but I'll post here too. The SS floor mat has the following dimensions.
The Z28 is 5 7/8" x 1"
The SS is 4" x 1 3/8"
Overall from the bottom tip of the Z to the bottom of the S it is 10 1/4"

New 4th Gen carpet mold was finished today and new test carpet is on it's way to me here in San Diego. I hope to have my two test vehicles fitted with these carpets by next Friday!!!
Also the proto-type floor mats are on the way to me and the logos are being digitized. these should be ready in two weeks.
Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Very cool, Tom!
As for logos other than the "Z28 SS" logo I sent you off an actual SS floor mat, I'd do similar for the other logos. Meaning, if you are going to do a CAMARO floor mat, take the camaro image I sent you and run it up the side of the mat about 11 inches or so similar to the way the "Z28 SS" logo is in the picture I sent you. IMO, that design is best for everything... TRANS AM, FORMULA, FIREBIRD, etc. At least that is what I'd like

Tom -
I apologize for not checking into this post sooner, but it's not really an urgent need of mine to get new carpet at this time.
But (isn't there always a but?) - I am sitting in Dalton, GA as I type at the moment, that is where I work. I don't work in a carpet factory, I am at an engineering firm, but I am in Dalton 6 days a week (Monday - [most] Saturdays). Anything I could do around here, I would be more than glad to help. Just let me know. If it would be a help, I could possibly go to wherever this stuff is being manufactured and snap a few pics if need be...just whatever I can do to help fellow F-Body enthusiasts. Let me know by E-Mail @ dalton@aaiengineering.com or Private Message or AIM...I will give you a phone number if you wish if you contact me to make things go a little smoother.
Dalton Blevins
(I wasn't named after the city)
BTW - I live just about 25 miles north of Dalton - so I am always pretty close.
