Need some opinions!
Alright, guys! I need some opinions. I'm a little undecided as to how much I really like it. I'm gonna have to rig up a way to pull the material higher so the LED's shine more, but the basic jist of it is in the pictures below. The headliner was graphite, but I dyed it black with some fabric dye. Then drilled 5 holes, shoved an LED into each hole. Took the bulb out of the dome light, and soldered two LED's into place. Anyway, here are the pics. Let me know what you think!
[In the picture, the true color of the headliner is on the middle right side of the pic, where the plastic piece meets for the T-top's bolt. The flash makes the material look gray.

Nope not at all.
One thing I forgot to mention in the above post is that the 5 LEDs that go down the center of my headliner are powered by the dome light, so when you open the door they shine on the console, and when the door is closed the LEDs receive what looks like 1v or 2v of power, they just give off a real dim red spot.

They probably are brighter in person, since LED's are pretty directional. Unless you are looking directly at them or where they are pointing, they are decieving.
Thanks for the input guys!
The function of them is to serve as the courtesy lights when you open the door. As of now, they are bright enough that the console has a red glow to it when it's on, but it definitely is not bright. It lights it up enough to make out the console, and some of the driver and passenger seats (the map lights are disconnected as of now until I install LEDs in there too). The point I'm trying to get them to serve is when you open the door (or turn all the interior lights on) there's a red glow that's attractive to the eyes, and not bright. Comparatively, they're a little brighter than the stock white lights that "shine" on the lock/unlock controls on the door panels. The car club I belong to meets at 10pm, hence all the lighting effects.
I figure if I try stickin a needle into the material around the LEDs and tug them up inside the holes, it'll create more area for the LEDs to shine and make them brighter so they'll really show up. I'll try and post some pictures soon of how well they light up the console, just have to get the camera to NOT flash but absorb the light.
