need help painting interior...

I want to paint my interior all black (right now i have that grayish color interior). To do this, do i take all the body panels off and sand them down and then spray them? Do i need to use any kind of primer or clearcoat or anything? Also, to do the dash is there anyway to take the dash off? What kind of paint do i use also...ive heard that the krylon fusion is pretty good paint.

Re: need help painting interior...

I'm curious about this as well. The interior of my camaro was already painted when i got it but some of it has chipped and cracked. I tried redoing some of it but it didn't turn out well at all. If anyone has any advise on painting an interior it would be greatly appreciated.

If you want a smooth look like the outside of the car then sand it down. It is a long process though to do it right but it is worth it. If you have a 93-96 then the whole dash comes out easy except the airbag.
1. Clean all pieces with rubbing alcohol
2. Sand, and wet sand. then use a fine grit sandpaper
3. Use sandable primer let dry then sand.
When it is nice and smooth put about 5 coats of primer, paint, then clear. Remember when doing the very top piece of the dash near the window not to use glossy clear coat because the refleaction of the sun will reflect on the windshield and you cant see a damn thing. I am almost done mine and will take pictures shorlty. Not a hard process but it is time consuming. If you just by the dye you can avoid the sanding and keep the natural interior look.
