Re: Need help with appearance ideas

Hmmm, thanks so much guys. Yall are giving me so many ideas.

I'm definately going to do the Berger panel. I just have to decide satin, or gloss? I am leaning towards the satin. I'm gonna follow that up with an SS spoiler, then let my bank account recover.

What after that I'm not to sure. I want to keep the car clean looking and dont want to over do it if you know what I mean. Subtle, yet unique and slightly more aggressive.

Zack, I would like to lower the car but I scrape my MAC y-pipe with the stock springs! I dont know if I can afford to go any lower. The only way I would consider it woudl be if I could have my y pipe raised up approximately 2 inches.

Black wheels may look pretty sharp though. I'd have to see them to form a good opinion. But then again, I'm poor and on a budget so I wont worry about it too much. Wheels are definately a year away, minimum.

Then the $10 nose badge decal is a must.
Red over silver...where do I send it to?

You said subtle - yet more aggressive. That would do the trick.

I always thought silver stripes on a car looked pretty sweet as the colors blend fairly nicely.

Re: Need help with appearance ideas

Call me stupid, but depending on the amount of patriotism you have in your soul...blue wouldn't be a bad accent color on the outside either. It would match your interior, but then the car wouldn't look like all some of the other white cars out there. Red seems to be a pretty dominant color when working with a white car. My TA has blue accents. I know I am kind of partial, but blue is an aggressive color that isn't seen against a white car all that much. You can get complete decal sets here. Good luck with it!

I do agree with the tinted windows (about 20% if you can find someone to go that dark), and the gloss black tail panel is a must!

Good luck bud!

White cars are sexy no matter what color tail panel they have?

If your hard top is white I think painting it and the sail panel's black would be a nice touch

Re: Need help with appearance ideas

Well, i got lucky and foudn a satin black tail panel for sale, and I'm picking it up today. I'm going to touch it up a bit, remove the SS badge, put on a Z28 emblem, and hopefully get it on the car soon. I'm also gonna run by a tinting place and check up on that.

Now hmmm, should I leave the Z28 emblem black, put a white overlay on it, or red?

I'll do more later, just have to save money. Thanks for the ideas everyone, I got way more help than I had anticipated.

Maybe a '70 Z28 emblem? (red and white)

Re: Need help with appearance ideas

Hey man, just thought I'd let you know that the satin black tail panel is AWESOME on white. Not that I'm biased or anything!

Here's some pics of mine with the white overlays:
http://www.richardsongenerator.com/camaro/

I just took off the white on the "Z28" cause I wanted to go for the "sleeper" look (you can barely see the emblem now). Either way it looks good.

Also, I just put in the clear front turn signals I got off ebay from procarparts.com (the diamond ones) and they clean up the front of the car remarkably. Best 29 bucks I've spent!

Good luck,
Kyle

PS: Did you say yours has the red interior? From the factory or aftermarket?? Mine's got the red/black from the factory. Looks like our cars are almost identical (except the T's). Is yours auto or stick?

Re: Need help with appearance ideas

Get some clear corners (the euro ones rock)

And follow up with some clear rear sidemarkers. Since red bulbs look pink in a clear rear marker (I used to have them), get a pair of red single red wedge LED base bulbs (they replace 194 bulbs, and actually look RED!!! You don't need resistors for 194s, just plug them in like the old bulbs and be done)

And then you can do all of that painting crap

Your car looks very nice! You actually have done exactly what I was planning on doing! I've already got my panel installed, I'm just waiting for the overlays from Brent. It seems there was a glitch in paypal and he hasnt recieved his payment yet. Once we sort it out though hopefully I'll be looking good!

And as for my car, its got the factory red interior, and its a 6 speed. Sometimes I wish I had t-tops... but its a hardtop.

Sweet man. Nothin wrong with a hardtop, I was actually looking for one at first but couldn't find one with the stuff I wanted. Good luck with all the stuff you're doing, it'll all pay off! There's only one more thing I want to do with my car and that's the SS spoiler then I'll be done.

Kyle
