If you have a nice lip there on your roof skin rough edge, then definetely go the way of the door trim. The stuff I bought for 4 bucks has adhesive on the inside of it so you just push it on and it sticks. Looks real great. I'll get pics tonight. It'd seem like kind of a pain to fiberglass all the way up to those 2 holes. I'm not sure it'd look as smooth as a thin topped mushroom head rubber plug. Anyone know where I can get a fricken rubber plug?

ttop conversion

That looks awesome! I wish I could do that, it scares me to even think about doing that. Any suggestions on who could do it.

I got pics of the door trim now. I could email them to you if you'd like. Well, email them to anyone if they want. Dont have any webspace left at the moment. I ended up using plastic plugs for the holes and siliconing underneath the metal for leakproofness. I guess that's what everyone else did.

I recently finished a t-top conversion myself and I am very pleased with the results. I wanted to add one point that a body shop told me when I was doing this conversion. When I went to make the corners for my car I was going to use fiberglass also. The guys at the body shop said that the fiberglass would crack two years down the road. So I used this stuff called ALL METAL that worked wonderfully. I spoke with one guy who rebuilt the t-bar on his 78 t.a. after it had rusted through with this stuff and it works awesome. It also sands nicely and takes hardly any time at all to dry. It will last much longer than the fiberglass supposedly. Just thought I would throw in my experiences also. Looks good!!

On my car where those holes are on the front I hammered them down and filled them in with the all metal and you can't tell they were ever there.

I've never heard of that stuff. Sounds better than the bondo people have been using for ages. About time something new came out. Too late now I guess but I'll remember that for next time. Is it just me or are there a lot of '93 guys doing the ttop conversion?

That is a very good idea. I think I am going to look into this as well. It should also provide a better "lip" for the rear of the t-top to seal on.

You can get the small plastic body plugs from any parts store like NAPA which fit just fine.

Nice Job, the car looks good. Its cool seeing alot more people doing the conversions now. I like that idea of using the door guard for the lip, I think ill give it a try too. Enjoy!
