My Rustoleum Paint Job

This past summer I embarked on a project to paint my 1994 Z28 Camaro. I wasn't about to go out and pay outrageous body shop prices to have it painted, so I decided to do it myself. With some basic supplies from home depot, I dove head first into my project. The paint on the car was already pretty bad, so I figured it couldn't get much worse if I screwed it up.

Here are some before pics:

And then after a final wet sand, followed by a long awaited cut and polish, this is what I had. (I also added a nice set of Corvette Rims)

Looks great sabresfan, just curious, what type of paint did you use and how many cans did the whole car take? I may actually attempt this myself....

Re: My Rustoleum Paint Job

I used rustoleum gloss sunrise red. They no longer sell it in the gallon cans which is a pain. So I probably ended up using 5-6, 1 quart cans. You also need to thin it with mineral spirits

There were some days the mixture got messed up because of the humidity or the air temperature. or it just didn't go on real smooth. It sucked painting outside because you were always at the mercy of the elements, so there's a lot of trial and error involved.
