My painted interior

Well, I've finally finished painting most of my interior. All I have left that I'd like to do are the kicker panels, the panel on either side of the backseat, and I think I might take out the center console and do that too, but I'm not sure how well the paint would hold up on the arm rest, so I'm going back and forth with that. In any case, here's some pictures of my interior, let me know what y'all think:

Before picture:

Note the difference between the fuse panel and the rest of the dash, also that the driver side vent is darker than the rest of the dash...

Closest after picture:

Now see that the fuse panel blends in, and the driver side vent is lighter than the rest of the dash.

After Pictures:

I know it's hard to tell, but here's a list of what I painted black and then clear coated:

Dash pad
A-Pillars
Gauge Bezel
Radio Bezel
Passenger Dash
Glovebox Door
Driver-side Knee Bolster
Rear Quarter Panel (goes over the spare tire)

Re: My painted interior

It looks good for the most part. But the upper dash flames got to go. Watch with the clear coat on the top part because the sun will but a lot of glare on the windshield. Second I would paint the center consule but not the arm rest part because it will wear off. But it looks good like that in the two tone. Also doing the door is good but the arm part of the door is not. I painted my whole interior black and it looks good. The only part bad is the soft part of the door that your arm rest on and rubs it grey. And the glove box **** needs to be red. I thought about doing a camaro lettering somewhere. Yours looks good on the dash.

I don't care for that look. I can appreciate how much work you did though. I wish I had the patience to do tedious things like that, but I don't.

Re: My painted interior

Well, the thing about the flames on the dash pad is that it actually does go with the interior...

here

When the sun hits it and the flames are bounced up onto the windshield, it works perfect with my flame gauges. I do agree tho, they'll be gone in a few weeks.

Not feeling it man... I liked the stock pic with the gauges except for the pedals though . The vents I don't think should be painted, the trim around it maybe, but not the vent itself. I'm not feeling the painted glove box lever dealy either.

Believe it or not but I could tell everything you painted.

Sorry I just never liked painted 93-96 interiors

hey it's alright, everyone's entitled to their opinion, and I respect everyone's opinion that posted. In any case, thanks for giving an honest opinion, I still love the interior and that's what matters cause I'll be drivin it.

OMG
if it was fading just put some 303 on it or something. Now it looks so generic, not to mention it smells like paint in the interior.

there's really no paint odor that I've noticed, I have the t-tops and windows open all the time anyway.

Re: My painted interior

no seroiusly, some people have hinted it but wtf were u thinking? seroiusly trade your car in for a civic. I pity that such a fine car as the camaro, would ever be subjected to such cruelty. Its like those puppies on animal planet crime scene or whatever, that arent fed and stuff and u wish you could take them in. They should start a show on Speed like that, like American Muscle Court, for people like you, and then luckily they would find you guilty of cruelty to an automobile upon which point your car would be confiscated, and later handed over to loving and caring owner, who would know how to take care of it. Strip all that crap off, buy new panels, whatever you have to do. Burn your car, or crush it, but dont make it live a cruel life subjected to such humiliation and cruelty. That goes for anyone else on this forum who has painted, or has ever even thought of painting their interior.

Good lord man, you think perhaps you are being a bit over-dramatic???? All he did was paint his interior to a color other than stock - OMG NO!!! I am not that big a fan of the flames (but it scores points for originality), but the rest looks great.

Lmao, you need to get a life, bro. Excuse me for changing my ugly charcoal interior to black. At that, while you crack your dash with your armoral trying to make it look nice, I can simply take a cloth and wipe mine off cause it's glossy and looks great.

I have never met so many **** conservative people in my life, you guys act as if I drastically changed the look of the interior. Painting it black ADDED to the interior, didn't take anything away. Granted, some people (mostly older people in their 50's) think the vents are cheap, as my dad even says "Back in my day, the cheap taxi's would paint their vents, the real good lookin cars were chrome accents, not paint..." But seriously, **** off. I'm tired of everyone ****tin on my hard work and time spent on trying to make my car look even better than it used to look. The old interior was , now it looks better and it's more pleasing to the eyes. Excuse me for trying to do something original and change the car to fit my tastes. There's a fine line between having an opinion, putting your 2 cents in, and just being a ****ing retard, and you definitely are the latter of the three.
