My Duplicolor spray bomb paint job - 1 year later! (almost)

Last April, I posted a thread about painting panels of my Firehawk with duplicolor sprays purchased at Autozone, and challenged everyone to guess which panels were painted. The following comments were made:

"...rattle can paint jobs dont hold up...."
"If you painted the bumpers with spray paint the paint will flake off real bad if you even touch something with them, forget the spider cracking...."
".....A year from now, take the same pics and get everybody to guess. I bet everybody will get it right."

May I present to you pictures of the same car almost a year later. I still have people walk up to it and try to get them to guess which panels are painted. I have yet to have someone guess correctly!

If you are on a very small budget, and don`t mind alot of elbow grease, this might be something to consider if your paint is becoming dull/faded/worn.

Kind of completely off subject with the thread, but where did you get those seats from and how much did they run ya? Also, awesome job on the painting. Looks awesome from what I can tell and youve kinda got me thinking about painting a my rear panel when I get it.

That is a very nice clean car.

Nice job on the paint.
The secret is in layering and wet sanding. Lay it on thick and wet sand it smooth. This winter I painted the drivers quarter panel and nose on a 1994 Camaro V6. I didnt use spray cans, I actually purchased a gun and used commercial paints. It came out perfect, though. Nobody would ever be able to tell which panels I painted.

Your car is more proof that the enthusiast can in fact paint a car and have it look factory.

Nice work!

Thanks guys!! I wasnt expecting too many replies at this hour.

The seats are actually from a `99 Firehawk that I owned before this one. This one originally had charcoal interior. My `99 had the tan you see here. I asked the buyer of my `99 if I could switch interiors before the sale, and he was more than happy with that deal.
Anyone have a newer Trans Am with tan interior they would like to sell?

By the way, those who havent guessed, the panels that were painted were the passenger side rear fender and the rear bumper, as well as the plastic molding down the sides.
