Ram Air conversion 94 TA
Re: Ram Air conversion 94 TA
from the factory its this stupid 1" wide about rubber peice that uses one hose clamp and the box and MAF always seperate, but i went to Home Depot and got a fernco rubber deal, 3"-3" and put another clamp on it. now its very tight and stable unlike before.
if you look close you can see the 2 seperate clamps but thats how little space there is, i had to trim down the rubber fernco piece a little otherwise the airbox was pushed too far foward.

there is one bolt under the air filter, kinda offset to the right and it goes through the plastic radiator deal. i havent looked at it but when i think about it, im almost positive it goes into the readiator support, but im really not sure how it does.
Re: Ram Air conversion 94 TA
my car has an aftermarket Harwood ram air hood, same style as the stock one, since my car was wrecked, and the guy who bought the hood and cut it out (then sold the car to me) cut it out i think how the stock one is supposed to be. there is like a lip that comes up on the hood so its not DIRECTLY into the airbox, the air has to go over the top of this thing and there are also little edges that look like they prolly helpy keep water out. either way i can tell you ive driven in rain and snow and never had a problem. its cool when theres snow, or frozen like condensation on the car and you can see the airbox where the engine heat doesnt heat it up. i dont think the stock WS6's or SS's could be produced if they couldnt be driven in the rain or snow.
heres a pic of about 20 minutes after i drove it home and bought it.

Re: Ram Air conversion 94 TA
If you get a "factory" WS6 hood, from the factory they have 2 baffles in the hood which deflect and prevent the rain from entering the filter. It is typical that many of the hoods get de-baffled to increase airflow through the hood, and let it breather even easier.
If these baffles are only slightly trimmed, the hood is still safe in the rain, if they are completely removed, then the car should not be driven in the rain.
Personally I have a good-weather-only car, so my hood is completely de-baffled.
