My dash cracked on my car the other day.

I discovered a small crack on the dash area near the radio and HVAC (not the upper dash that goes to the windshield).

Is there something I can use the sort of "fill in" the crack? Like an interior bondo? I don't want this crack to spread.

 

nope. and good luck finding one in a junk yard. or better yet, if you find one, good luck taking it off without cracking it!

can I at least ghetto-fix it? Like use JB Weld or some epoxy?

 

auto zone has something like jb wled made for fixing ur dash and there is alot of colors so u can match it.

 

Thats why i always use a lot of vinyl conditioner on my dash and always put up sun shades in my windows to protect my interior.

 

You can get a brand new dash from gmpartsdirect for 97 bux....

 

Auto zone does have a pastic epoxy that will work nice for you are describing,I have used it in the past.Just ask at the counter for plastic epoxy or plastic weld and they will know what you are talking about.Ah well some of them will anyway

Why did it crack? What caused it to crack? I don't want it happening to either of our cars. Especially if the sun causes it to crack, because the silver one sits behind my sister's place of employment for hours and hours.
