I was considering buying the black aluminum shift **** with the bird logo shown here about 2/3 the way down the page and I have a question.



How do you know for sure that when you screw the **** on the logo will be facing the correct direction? Maybe that is a silly question, but I thought I'd ask before I shell out $40 for it!

Shift ****

 

they have shims that you put inside the shift **** to make sure the logo gets placed correctly. Mine is almost perfect, very easy to do, just try a bunch of options.

 

Hmmm...that's very interesting! I figured there had to be something, but I sure as heck didn't know what it was!

Oh, do the shims affect how much of the shifter you can cut off? Is it like a spacer of sorts?

 

Yea, there are shims that you use... no, cut as much as you want off, they are different thicknesses, and average about as thick as a piece of paper... It's a fairly fine thread, so the thin shim makes the logo rotate a fairly predictable amount... although if it's 180* off, you may consider taking a file to the end of the rod, but that's not too hard and it doesn't take much...

 

mine lined up perfectly with no shims on a Speed Inc Shortstick

 

I have the black Z28 engraved ****. The Z28 faces me slightly and I kind of like it like that.
