Making the rims fit. Please help

Ok, here's the deal. I purchased a set of American Eagle 211's (like the TTII's) 16x8, 5x4.75 only to find out that the do not have the correct offset (I found a site that listed these rims as compatible with a 95 F-Body but they ain't!!!). Unfortunately, the guy at the distributor from whom I bought them also thought they were compatible but the offset is 2mm (NO GOOD!). I'm really disappointed that they won't fit but I was wondering if there was any way to make them fit (without doing anything to the rim). Any type of adapter? Or will using an adapter make the wheels stick out too far from the body (as per early rice boys)? Any suggestions from all of those 'experts' out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Have you test fitted to make sure that they do not fit?? NOt sure what you would need for a spacer. The best what to figure it out it to put the rim on the car and see how much clearance you need.

The only way these rims are gonna fit .....and this is a longshot here....you are gonna have to "narrow" your rear end.

Hardcore drag racers do it. You basically have to cut out a section of the axle tubes and get your hands on some shorter axles (don't ask me how).

Since the stock rims have an offset of 55mm and your rims are 2mm, you would have to remove 53 mm of axle tube to make it work.

You might also have issues with your brakes, abs, brake lines....etc.

My advice, find some other rims.

they have already said that they would refund the full amount. but before I bring 'em back I just wanted to check out to see if it was possible to 'easily' make 'em file. Ah well, guess I'll have to get some other rims. thanx everyone.

Do yourself a favor and take them back now while there is no damage. Otherwise you may own a set of wheels that don't fit your car.
