LT1 intake color?

I just wanted to get everyones opinion on what color would look best on my intake manifold. I just painted it high temp "aluinum" which is pretty much silver and it looks very good, very clean looking. At the same time though it seems very plain. So I thought I would just paint the "fins" on the very top of the manifold red to throw it off a little. I like the look of the LT4 as well. My car is red not to mention, so silver and red are the only options really. Opinions welcome. Thanks!

Re: LT1 intake color?

The VHT paint is very tough. The dupli-color high temp seems to be really good so far too.

I went with "chrysler orange" on mine. Looks better than red IMO.

Gloss black. I painted my water pump housing when I did the CSI and it looks good to me.

when I do mine, I am going to paint the whole thing, then sand off the paint on the fins and polish them

Re: LT1 intake color?

actually its waaaay easier than that all you have to do (if your painting it) is put grease on the fins then the paint wont stick to them and the paint rubs right off of the fins since there is a layer of grease/lube under it...Works perfect

BAD! idea. The fins have very deep milling marks in them so you will be sanding for a long time even with a good sander it takes a lot of sanding to get all the paint out!
