Looking for an 98-02 OEM SS hood...

Sorry, made a thread and put z28 hood in the title when I meant that I was looking for an SS hood, so here it goes...

Been looking to buy a OEM SS hood for my 2002 z28 camaro... i've been looking around craigslist and such, do you guys know anyone selling one?

buying a replicia would be a huge mistake correct? they fit terribly from what I hear.

I'd stick with OEM if at all possible. If time isn't an issue, just wait for one to pop up for sale on craigslist or on a forum.

if you think you're going to find a used OEM for sale you are out of your mind, it aint goign to happen, they are $3k from a dealer, just get an a good quality aftermarket one, who cares if it doesn't fit perfect, your car is black and any gaps wont stick out anyway.

Try VFN or Suncoast, they look great and fit awesome.

$3000 seems a bit unrealistic for a body panel. Regardless of a hood being OEM or aftermarket, there's still going to be some work getting it to fit properly. I'd personally keep an eye out for something OEM, like it was mentioned, keep an eye on local wrecking yards for a car that was hit in the back or something. I've seen too many ill-fitting aftermarket body parts to want to go that route, but it couldn't hurt to research the ones you're interested in and read up about other people's experiences with them.

I have an OEM one that came off a blue SS. If you are in the Metro Detroit area and still interested, it is for sale at $625. Great condition, no damage.
