Just a thought, but rather than cover the rails up, why not polish them and let them contribute to the appearance of the engine compartment. A little aluminum polish and some effort, and they will shine like chrome.... .

Thats pretty sweet Injuneer, did you buy the LT4 intake or did you powder coat it yourself? That looks awsome

Thanks to both of you for the positive feedback. That is a "genuine" LT4 intake sitting on top of a pair of very heavy breathing CNC ported LT4 heads. Here's the big picture:

Engine compartment

Air intake

Manifold/Rail closeup

The fuel plumbing supports a 381 stroker, with a 300-shot of dry nitrous, controlled by a MoTeC M48Pro engine management system..... close to 800 flywheel HP.

Yep, same thing I did, and it is Uber easy also
My intake and valve covers are chrome-a-llusion though

Kudos to you guys and your polished rails....I think they look pretty good too. Especially when you put some color on the top of the intake as well.

I made them myself out of 1/16" aluminum sheeting. Just cut them out on my bandsaw bent them a little for some shape and added paint and decals.

Glad you like them....

I can't put fuel rail covers on my '97 Z there is a big black box between the intake and the valve cover on the drivers side.

Had them on my '94 Caprice LT-1 though.
There are some pics. in my yahoo group.
