Dude dont worry about what anybody says. If you look at alot of the post counts from the bad caooments there new people and there opinion doesnt count . Its your car and you are the one who has to drive it everyday not them. If you like it then good for you. I think its going to look kick *** if you go with a dif. front bumper. Do you have a pic of the side skirts? If your having probs molding them in pm me and ill let ya in a a little trick i did with mine. Also you should reinforce the joints on that rear bumper from behind. I didnt the first time and i was using tigerhair also and it cracked. All i did was mixup some resin and laid a few layers of fierglass mat behind the joint to stiffen things up. What filler are you using? I found that bondo brand was much harder to sand and started using rays gold. it sanded much easer and wasnt as hard on the sand paper.

Why? you realize an SS is just a z28 with an appearance package you're changing just about everything SS about it so why even get an SS. That is what bothers me. Its like if i'm gonna build a resto-mod mustang i don't go out and get a Boss 302 or Boss 429 to cut up and change i get just a plain fastback. Its not very wise as an investment point of view either.

couldn't have said it better myself!

If your gonna add rice to a car at least add it to a COMMON car...

Another SS bites the dust

From everything I have seen all he is changing is the rear bumber and adding side skirts and a front lip......so he still has everything that made it a ss to begin with on there, so I dont really understand why everyone has a problem with it being a SS rather than a Z28 or a 6.

Well he had ditched his original SS hood for a Carbon fiber SS hood. Which if you were gonna buy a new hood why not just get a Z and ditch the stock hood.

Not singleing you out or anything bud, just needed someone to quote.

Exactly why does it matter to anybody what car he starts with, be it 6er, Z, or SS. As was stated above an SS is an appearance option, so who gives a fat rat's ***.

As for my opinion on the project, good luck. I've seen similar rear bumpers on stangs and they seemed to match up well. However on a car like your SS that has not a hard line on it I think things like that don't go all that well. Of course once it's in paint I could be proven wrong so.....

Well the rear looks good from what i can see. Have you ever thought of a CME. I think it would make it look even better.

Man,for what it's worth,I like the look and as said above a CME would really look good on there.
As far as some of the comments that have been made, don't worry about them it is your car and you can CUSTOMIZE it anyway you want.It is nice to see someone with the guts to stand out from the crowd and be noticed without caring what other people think.

Re: Let the hating begin

wow - lot of harsh people -

My opinion... you have the most ***** out of anyone i know to take a perfectly good SOM SS camaro and start sanding and priming it ha, i cant even bring myself to start sanding my black twice wrecked camaro to redo a few things.

Dont mind the rear so much or the skirts, think you said you werent using the front bumper which is a good choice. dont like that- Other than that, looks like your doing a good job and im curious to see how she looks all painted.

Wheels are killing me though. just too much going on with them.

keep us updated-
