Re: Leather Seat Modifications...

Not trying to be a dick... but go ahead and raise it.

The simple fact is that I would be able to a set of seats in a month or so... at best... and I am not going to make money off of them... whatever it costs in materials, plus whatever it costs to have the seamstress (since im the manager... you are basically paying the $10/hour labor rate instead of the $60 an hour shop rate) their hourly rate... not the shop rate.

If they want to lock it, delete it, thats fine... but bottom line is I simply would not make a profit... let alone enough to pay for a sponsorship... bottom line. If I wanted to make a profit... there are plenty of people over at SCFYB that would want it done, and they would spread the word.... I simply dont have the time to mass produce these... and it would be a slow down time thing... why should the shop be open, paying people $10/hour if nothing is there?? Instead I could help out the guys here... and save them $50/hour vs if they would have come to me and wanted it.

If I wanted to charge the regular rate, this would run over $1,000 for this mod... but since Im not... it should run around $400. If that isnt a deal enough to keep from a sponsor... thats fine. Ill charge the $1,000, and pay the $300 a month to be a sponsor, and pocket $300 instead. Hell, that doesnt sound half bad... maybe Ill go ahead and screw people since everyone in this world is all about making money instead of helping people.

If just once everyone in this world wasnt about "money" many different places would be a much better place. And in all honesty... things might actually get passed around on a word of mouth... instead of having to pay for a sponsorship...

If it was profit based, thats fine... I SHOULD pay a sponsorship... but since it wasnt intended to be... I shouldnt. I will go ahead and send this link to the site mods, and ask them to delete it.

Sorry for trying to help.

While i agree its not fair Brent is just doing his Job. Lloyd was allowed to push his products on here for a long time before he came a sponsor. There is no need to be rude to Brent its his job.

Re: Leather Seat Modifications...

I am not pushing a product. When I come on here and try to get people to send the seats to me for a certain price... thats one thing. I make enough money on my business I dont need this by any means. I was just trying to help... and if trying to help others in what I love, and what I assume a hobby they love, is going to bring an uproar... hell with it.

As much as I see your point, I think another point is that if you're offering this product "profit free" then it takes away from the potential business of a sponsor that might be trying to make their profit off of the same service. There's no way they would be able to compete with somebody that's offering their service for the cost of just materials.
