Question Krypton Blue headlights?

My friend is selling his 2001 SS and so he is letting me buy a few things from him - he has different bulbs for his headlights (high and low beams) - they are called Krypton Blue i think - I've seen them before on his car at nighttime and it really seems that it brightens the road more and thats what I'm looking for

Does anyone else have these bulbs and is there any problems associated with them - does it strain the electrical system in any way - i dont have any ratings (wattage, etc.) on them
Thanks!

The Krypton bulbs are actually a Krypton/Xenon mix. This is a good thing. It keeps the higher wattage bulbs cooler. They are probably 100w or 80w. This higher wattage explains the better output. You shouldn't have anything to worry about, but you will get better performance with a aftermarket wiring harness.

Lets see some pics there Nunz. Huh, there are so many different types of bulbs, that a lot of people on here are looking for some sort of "HID" setup.

Check the wattage on those bulbs carefully, GM OEM wiring harness' do not take kindly to high wattage bulbs, I burnt one wiring harness up with 100 watt Hyperwhites. Best bulb for the money is the Catz Galaxy white bulb, about $39/pair 55 watt = 110 watt equivalent output. I have them in my car and they are outstanding. I also exchanged my OEM Blazer fog lights (yellow) for Catz XLO driving lights (70 watt Galaxy White bulbs). True HID light kits are available for about $550 (9005/9006).

Hey man,
You got a pretty good deal on that set. I was runnin those bulbs in my stock housings, and I was VERY happy with mine. They are 4300k color temp and they will look STUNNING in your (much better) LS1 housings.

Here is a link to the headlight harness upgrade:
