I dont even have a CD player in my car that functions half way decent or even a radar detector and you guys are already talking about throwing in ipods! I'm getting behind on things.

Re: ipod setup in your camaro

New headunits can plug directly into your IPOD and control it.. I may get one of those..

are you thinking of a bracket or something to put your ipod in?

Your manual will say if it is ipod compatible. Most high-end headunits can play an ipod with an adaptor.

I have a FM Modulator thing, it was 80 bucks but it's simple and gets the job done, plus I don't have to get a new headunit.

Re: ipod setup in your camaro

I will be purchasing this for my headunit which I bought a few years ago. It plugs in to the Disc changer port. So, I won't need any type of mounting system etc. for my ipod. So I guess I'll just stick it in the console or glove box.

I got an adaptor from mp3yourcar.com that plugs into the iPod and the cars CD changer port. It lets me control the iPod with the steering wheel controls and sounds perfect. Almost 200$ though.

Do you have the CD changer in the back of your car? If so, you could probably do this: http://ipod.hackaday.com/entry/1234000220046664/

I prefer my method in the Corolla though, I just bought an ipod to cassette converter and made a holder out of naugahide and used poster attaching material to mount it in the car. Doesn't look professional, but gets the job done for $20.
