Interior Paint Help

I've seen many camaro's that have done the interior painting on the door handle and air vents, etc. i was interested in doing this my self but was not to sure if there was a specific type of paint that i would need to use so that it turns out okay. do i need a primer as well or what?

Has anyone that posts on here have any ideas for this, or even opinions on it?

VHT makes some paint for interiors - I don't have the can anymore but I know I special ordered it through a local auto parts supplier. I think you can get it from Summit Racing. Hope this helps and good luck.

Plasti-Kote from Pep Boys works just fine! That's what I used on our SS. Go to our site under "how to installs" for pics and instructions on what we did to paint our interior.

The man speaks the truth. I am probably going to pull mine out ( Black/silver marbleized) and redo it with Flames, or try my hand at laying carbon fiber.

After cleaning the piece, I used Bond-Aid for a "primer" on the plastic, then used Plasti-koat "Aluminum" enamel paint (this is on my speaker grilles and door handle bezels).

Jare23,
Go to their store if you can. Its much easier to locate the paint. Any one of their spray cans will work fine. The key is the clear coat.

Green97RS,
Do you mean the name of the color? If you clear coat your parts, it will not only look 1000 times better than non-clear coated parts but also will help in protecting from scratches and rub off. Did you primer before painting?

I used Plati-Kote from Pep boys and it works great. Try to stick to interior paint not regular spray paint. I have seen it peel off with regular. I didn't clear coat mine and it still looks awsome. The plasti-kote gives it a natural feeling and blends really well with the texture of the plastic.
