If you ride in a TransAm and a Camaro especially at night, it feels like the Camaro is the prototype car and the TA is the finished product. It also seems that TransAms had everything first and the Camaro got it later, Camaro even swithed to a dash that looks like a TA on it's 97 and up. I couldnt get used to the plain looking interior, I have 2 Z's and have had one since new back in 94, I finally kinda went with the what many would call Rice look, but the chicks love it! I even put some TransAm door panels and had the replace the leather to match the outside of my car, I go thru a checkpoint everyday cuz I live on post, and if an MP doesnt give me a compliment, it is strange. You can click on my link and see my interior, some may like it some may feel everyones interior should look the same?

I like the interior of my 94Z
the only problem I had is the CD holder which was defenatly out of place but I covered it with the gauge/swich pannel and i only get complemets on it.

I'm personally going with the 97+ dash to match my 97+ console. I like the gauges, the odometer and trip are digital... I mean how cool is that. Ill be taking many pictures of the before, during, and after stages of the install. I honestly dont expect it to take that long. But along with the dash I want the bird door panels, they just look sweet heh.

It's not a bad price, and since I have a beat up B4C's interior, holes in the radio bezel, scratched up glovebox cover, a pillars are all muffed up, trip doesnt work, broken dash cover. I need a new one anyway.

Call me crazy, but I actually liked the interior of my old '94 LT1 better than my 2000 Z28. The dash is OK, not really better or worse than the '94 to me, but the 00 cloth interior is freaking ghetto!!

The car is beautiful from the outside but to be honest I'm somewhat embarrased about the inside cloth pattern.
What the hell is this velvet gray zebra S*#t. The old '94 charcoal tweed was 100 times better.

Anyone know if we can dye the cloth seats/door panels? I don't like leather (smell) but I just can't stand this interior cloth pattern too much longer!

I can see how alot of people think it LOOKS cheap, but what do you want, $1000 worth carbon fiber, the most exotic leather you can get...what? I dunno, I think it just leaves alot of room for customizations and what not. Accent work here, white faced guages there, aftermarket headunit, shifter, steering wheel. I think there's alot of potential, or is it just me? Might be cheap now, but it's got a killer design and setup, everything's in JUST the right spot.

It's not that the interior DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION is cheap (to me), it that the interior cloth PATTERN accents (ie. zebra pattern) belongs on a couch from a '70s **** flick!

Why could'nt GM just have left the cloth accents solid color

Hmmm, I guess my statement of the $1000 for CF was off by only $500

I think for 1500 I could have bought an entirely brand new custom built interior inclusing everything inside the car

I know, but there are many things I would not buy for my car that cost twice as much, that others would spend, lol.

Also, custom work is expensive.

Your not going to believe what I am about to say...

I had my interior done with the cf accents, did not like it, replaced all of the parts with new ones, cost me another $300. One thing to learn, do it right the first time.

Everyone has a value and thresh hold on finance. I would never spend $2000 on a rear end for my car that nobody will see, but some folks have a value to have one for racing, mine is visual.

I understand your perspective and point. Enjoy the looks, your not paying for it, lol.

get a LS1 dash for your LT1 out of a crashed car. The LS1 dash is far better looking than the LT1. BTW you must get vinyl floormats and leather seats. A decent sports car must have leather. I dont know why its not standard.

I think the camaro are firebird interiors are some of the nicest designed, the gauges are nice and large, the over all appearence says muscle car, the camaro has that nice camaro badge on the center console. now the quailty ofeverything may not betop notch, but most cars have ugly interiors, i hate ho there making these 3 spoke steering wheels and putting all this chrome trim all over the place looks; tackey to me, Its not suppose to hurt your eyes when you look at an interior. But are interiors are standard, leather coverings are available, and i thank GM for making is as nice looking as it does, i like the gauage colors, the red and orange in the firebird and the red and blue in the camaro. BTW i would say that carbon fiber interior was worth it, it looks beautiful. It looks like they did a great job, I've worked a little bit with carbon fiber so I could do it myself. i would cover it in like 2 layers, sand it down all rear fine and clear coat it, which is probably what they did. Its a mess to work though and you have to buy the epoxy in large quanityis and it's expensive and the same with the fiber sheets. and The hard part is getting the sheet to lay flat on the surface in evey little spot.
