Interest in Wide Body kit?
Interest in Wide Body kit?
Just curious if I was to go through the trouble of making a wide body kit for my camaro if anyone else would be interested in buying one. I was thinking of a kit something like the concept GTO judge, the orange one. Just a small flare to the fender and quarters. I can make the front fender as a complete bolt on piece but the quarters would have to be molded on of course. What do you guys think?
Re: Interest in Wide Body kit?
i'm definately interested if they look nice. I've been waiting for this sort of product for awhile, however the front fenders that were offered a here a few months back were for the 98+ body styles only. And the rear fender flares were like $600. A bit too expensive for a bolt on panel IMO. But if you ever get around to making them, i'd love to see pictures. Good luck with the project.
Re: Interest in Wide Body kit?
If you do a search here you'll find the answer will be YES. However, asking about making one and if people here will be interested is a difficult subject because once you get 25 or 50 people respond that say they're interested, you now have yourself an email/customer list and have basically bypassed the requirement here to be a supporting vendor to promote a retail type product like this.
While I think it is GREAT that you are looking to do this I'm going to have to close this because it isn't fair to the other supporting vendors here... especially the ones who sell fiberglass products. If you'd like to discuss this further with one of the Admins, JasonD also moderates here so please email him at jason@camaroz28.com
But, just to let you know, I've been here for a long time and everytime the discussion of a wide body Camaro is mentioned, several get very excited
I don't think that if you make this, it looks good, and it is a fair price that you'll have much trouble selling them
EDIT: If people could respond with what they would like to see and how they would like it to look, that would be cool. However, I'm afraid you'll have a lot of people responding with "Email me when you get it cause I want one!!!" and then there will be problems. If you could reword your topic to instead of asking for interest to something like "What would you like to see in a wide body kit if one were to be made" that would allow people to give their opinions about them without you being able to collect a customer list. Not sure if it would work or not but the first time it gets mentioned that people want one and to notify them when it's done then we're back to the same problems
