Instrument Cluster Needles

Does anyone know what year they started using the red needles in the instrument cluster on Camaros? Also, would these fit on a 93 Z28 cluster, or are they totally different?

Thanks.

Ok. That helps. Anyone ever try to put 97+ needles on a 93-96 instrument cluster? Thanks.

I think the actual size of the 97+ needles are too large for the 96 and older ones. If that's the case, pin size does not matter

Thanks. Can anyone else confirm this? It would be nice to know for sure before I buy a 97+ cluster to get needles that may not fit.

Couldn't you just buy the needles, instead of getting the whole cluster? I hope so, since I'm working on some red face gauges a la the new GTO, and my red needles will too hard to see in the daytime...

The needles by themselves are not available from the dealer. I called two locally.
