If you've put LEDs in your gauge cluster please enter!
I recently put the quad LEDs in my gauge cluster.
It looks like crap, though. Only the parts directly in front of the bulbs are lit up good. The other areas are very dim. Especially the Oil press & temp gauge sides
I tested all bulbs before installing so I know they all work.
I have Macewen overlays on as well if that matters

I have the quad tip bulbs also, same result as you. the single tip bulbs are supposed to disperse the light better, the end of the bulb is concaved which results in a broader light beam.
I plan on getting the clear 5 watt 194's once they are available.

I was just kidding...

I didn't see that, but...normally the quad LED's do pretty good - they seem to be brighter than the single type...
I think that is what catsnet has too...is the correct Alex?

On my '01 I had to use a mix of the single dish shaped LEDs and the Quad tip. I the Actual Speedo and Tach, I used the single LED, is it seemed too bright in areas and on the outside edges I used the quad tipped. I made the lighting a little more uniform.

Where do you get LEDs for the dash?
Where do you get LEDs for the dash?
It's because you bought the quad ones - trust me. Buy the single LEDs, the light spreads out instead of pointing in one direction like a laser pointer
Here's my dash with the blue single LEDs from superbrightleds.com:

And a diagram I made:
