Im trying to think of some custom decals for my 99 SS, right now i have in mind to get a decals that goes over my hood scoop, and i wanna try and think of some decals to put on my engine bay, or some little one(s) to go across my STB, im not really looking to do racing stripes. just somethings to spice up the car. Any one have any idea's, pic's or websites lemme know, thanks

Funny you mention wanting an idea for custom SS decals

I just now uploaded to my site the pics of the SS emblem overlays I designed! These are very cool IMO! My original intent was to keep my SS emblem looking "factory" but adding a bit of "spice" to it at night. My idea was to make reflective black SS emblem overlays that would fit perfectly over the black portion of the current SS emblem but retain the factory outline (either red or silver). While designing these I was using an inexpensive gold vinyl I have to do the test fitting rather than the expensive reflective stuff. Well, this gave me the idea that not only could you use black reflective vinyl to maintain a factory look but I could also change the appearance of my SS emblem while keeping the 3D emblem look!

Here is a picture of me turning my SS emblem "yellow" to match my yellow SS. I didn't keep this... this was only an example...

I doubt that but if I can make a couple bucks and help out my f-body buds at the same time, that's all I really care about. So far I haven't made a nickle... have to pay for the vinyl I've bought first. LOL! I just like making up this stuff and especially the custom stuff like the SS overlay above. To my knowledge, nobody else has done this. Sure, there are tons of places that sell CAMARO inserts but I don't know about anybody else who does the SS overlays. Of course, now that the idear is out there I'm sure a few will pop up here and there. I happen to think it is very cool but, who knows... maybe nobody else will? LOL!

 

If you want to do somethin to spice up the car I would custom paint your calipers and get caliper decals only.

Decals are WAY overrated

 

Nah! Well, if you get carried away then I'd have to agree with you but the stuff like the rear CAMARO inserts and such add a bit to the car without looking tacky IMO

 

Oh yeah, those inserts definately look good.

But caliper decals definately = my best "decal" type mod...

I get compliments on them almost daily.

 

brent.. you wouldnt happen to be able to make/ or know where i could get Z28 Emblem overlays (just decals) in say silver or even reflective black for that matter
