Question I want to tint my T-tops...need help

I like my T-tops, but I don't like having the sun beat down inside my car on a summer day. Sunshades do the job, but they are cumbersome for me.

I want to tint my T-tops so they are solid, or at least close to solid. I want the least amount of light to enter through them as possible.

What should I do? I was thinking of using VHT Nightshades to start, then have them tinted 5%. Has anyone done this? Ideas? Thanks

go to wally world and get some of that tint that electrostatically sticks to your windows. cut the size you want and stick it on there. Plusses- cheap and quick and removable. Negatives- not permanent and may fall on you while driving. It is not something everyone will be able to see as you drive by; so who cares if a tint shop did it or you. Just my .02

I dont like the shades cause they wear out the headliner around the edges. Take the T-s to a place that tints car windows and let them do it. I had a shop near me do a pair of sunglasses that i liked the frames but hated the tint level. The shop should be able to show you samples of how dark it will be when tinted.

Thanks for the replies guys.

First, I am going to try VHT Nightshades. I have a gift certificate to a shop that sells it, so I'll try that first. If that the VHT doesn't work, then I will get 5% tint on them.

I'll be sure to post some pics when this is done....probebly not for a while, since I need to find some time

Stock is smoked glass, but i'm not sure what percent their at. I remember someone on the board saying what it was but i dont remember. You can also get those 93-94 t-tops that have the dot matrix like pattern on them. They are a lot more forgiving in the hot sun. However you cant see out of them too well.
