I am thinking about getting some stock 16x8 Firebird 5-Stars, and powdercoating them black, with a polished lip. Do you think this would look Ok on a Red Formula Firebird? I am just looking for something different that you don't see every day...

 

Yea it would look fine but, I would go with 17's atleast...

Actually, I have responded to a lot of posts asking this question lately. Seems to be becoming more popular. Click on "My webpage" in the sig to see my red Z with black wheels and polished lip.

 

SS 10 spoke rims are sorta common, but you hardly ever see them on a T/A and I don't think I have ever seen them on a Formula...
Just a thought. Black rims are kinda drastic.

yep, dont go with 16's....at LEAST 17's IMO

 

Would look good...I agree about the 17's though. There's a post from yesterday where a guy was asking about polling his 3 F-Bodies, he had a red Z with black/gunmetal wheels on it.

I think they look great though, expecially on red, black, and white.

 

Dude. I think it would look awesome. But yeah....Get some bigger wheels. Its not even the fact that they are 16" but they are too narrow for the huge wheel wells. Black rims look sweet on bright colours. My old 1993 Z28 was bright red with gunmetal Gray ZR-1s. And it looked sweet. But I was gonna get the rims painted Black...but I sold the car before I got the chance My old 1993 Z28

 

16's will look fine....

Have you seen white rims? those look nice as well! Although I imagine they get really dirty

 

Black is the way to go. But its becoming more popular as we speak.
