I need a new convertible top
I need a new convertible top
I need to get a new top for my car. What is the best brand of top and where is the best place to buy one? How much will the top cost and how much should I extect to pay for install?.
Year One

Year One has tops, seems like a decent price if you can salvage your back glass. The glass alone is $400 for some reason, that seems high. I've seen them on Ebay but you don't know what you're getting from there. Hope this helps.

Examine your car's "top" more. You'll notice that there are actually 2 pieces. The rear piece holds the glass in the back of the car, and the main piece actually covers the rear piece. If your convertible top is sagging/ballooning, only the "top" (main piece) needs to be changed. This costs around $1000 if you do it in canvas, and around $800 if you choose vinyl instead. To change both the main and rear pieces you're looking at around $1500 to do the WHOLE thing in canvas, and $1300 to do it in vinyl.
The top is torn and the window section is in poor condition (I would guess both are original) so I will need to replace everything. I had no idea the tops for this car would be so expensive. Several years ago I got a top for my 68 GTO Convertible and the top with glass (although not w/defroster) only cost $250. Any idea why they are soooo expensive for the Camaro?
