I HATE MI. Under hood pics and poll.

Well it has came time to pull the engine and paint the engine bay.The salt in michigan has rusted everything.sitting for 3 years hasnt helped either. All the rust has been cut out now and i will be fixed. Here are some pics of what it looks like.Check out the huge hole in the driver side wheel well.
Should I paint it orange or black? Im thinking black with orange block and intake.

I think the contrast between a black engine bay and orange block would look great. It'd make the engine stand out when you pop the hood. Not to mention any chrome you might put under there will be that much more noticable.

Agreed, black underhood would be a nice contrast.

How often does your hood stay up in your car where that would be a problem?

you would be fine...por 15 is only affected by constant exposure. if it would make you feel better though you could use por 15 then a top coat.

Yeah That rust hole was pretty sick.I went to a local junk yard and took out that whole section for ten bucks and welded it in.I'm painting it right now getting ready to spray the clear.I'll have pics later tonight.

Moshbmx1 As far as getting a beater for the winter I wouldn't even drive the car without it being painted under the hood let alone drive the car in the winter.I LIVE IN MICHIGAN.lol. I wish the kid who had it before me would of taken that advice.
