I painted my interior maybe like 4 months ago and it is now getting chips and scratches on it, I guess I did it the wrong way....just paint over the old color. What is the best way to paint your interior and also what materials will be needed, I want to do it again but this time the Right way.

If you're just going to paint em without smoothing out the texture, just make sure you clean the hell out of the parts with some alcohol or something of that nature. Prime it, spray a couple coats of paint, and then a couple coats of clear.

To smooth out the texture, what kind of sandpaper should I use.

When I sanded mine down, I used a 40 or 60 grit pad (can't remember) on my sander and blasted through the roughest stuff. After that, you can go to a 100 something grit to smooth it a little more and then come back with something in the 400 area to really clean it up. You may still have to lightly fill it to smooth it out completely, or you could sand it with even finer paper. Sanding through the texture will look a ton nicer than if you just painted over the texture.
