Question How much for a new hood and how much $$ for painting it???

Thinking about getting a 96/97 SS hood for my Camaro and was wondering how much money you guys paid or were quoted to get one put on and have it painted.

Thanks for your replys

Edit- Also, what about your spoilers???

Well hoods will run you about $700 + shipping, painting depends on the body shop. I had my SS hood and SS spoiler painted at a friends body shop for $300 and it looks great. Back in 99 I had my WS6 hood painted at my dealership for $450.

Spoilers about $450 to have it painted about $150-$200.

Good quality hoods and spoilers go to www.americansportscar.com

I have owned several hoods from them (97 WS6, 99WS6, 01 SS hood, 01 SS spoiler) never had a problem all fit great

I bought a new 93-97 SLP WS6 hood off of eBay for $600 and it cost me $65 to ship it and $350 to have it painted (chameleon/mystic teal metallic).

I paid $275 to have mine painted white. I got a deal though, it would have been like $325 or so.

I bought the RKSport big block hood. With alot of fiberglass hoods there is some more work needed to get it to install correctly. From what I have observed with my hood, and a friend who put an SS hood on his 94Z, alot of the fiberglass hoods come rippled and need some shaving around the edges. for MY car, they had to smooth out the hood, shave quite a big around the edges, repainted the front quarter pannels (to blend). The install and pain cost a little over a grand....plus i bought the hood for 765. So it was aprice project, but worth it because most of the front of my car was repainted.
