How hard is it to swap dash boards?

I like the Firebird/TA dash much better than the camaro dash, so I was wondering how hard it would be to take out my camaro dash and swap in the TA dash? Ive been looking and it only appears that the front pieces are different, the rear section seems to be exact same between the two. But thats just visual, I dont know if they would interchange and mount with ease. Does anybody know? Has anybody tried this? I searched but came up with nothing.

I'm guessing it could be done...of course you'd have to re-do all the AC ducting and things like that....but I really don't see why it couldn't be done. I guess the best thing would be to look at your mounting points on the camaro...then go check out all the mounting points on a TA...that should tell the tale. The AC ducting and stuff behind everything can all be rigged to work, no prob.

I've been researching this some...using THIS link, and it seems like from what I can tell...there's quite a bit involved in this. Airbags for one. Messing with the airbag, at least to me, is a PITA!!!! You gotta be sure of what you're doing. There's other stuff too...wiring...HVAC controls...defog switch placement...guages cluster stuff....

In other words...it's a lot of work. Doable...but you'd really need to know what you're getting into.

I did it...BUT I put a 95 camaro dash into my 96 TA. it isnt hard at all. I had to rewire my speedo but I dont think u will...the whole dash includes the AC vents and ducting. It is just a matter of taking 1 out and puttin another 1 in. U might have to extend a few connectors but all in all took me 1 day to get the dash out of the donor car, take it out of my car, rewire everything, and re install the dash back in. If u have any questions email me while it is still fresh in my mind.
