how do you fix curb rash on ZR1 rims?
mine were a little beat up when i got them and ive hit a couple curbs since they have been on my car
how do you get that fixed? would a shop weld in metal and mill it down or just mill the entire rim edge down as it is? and of course... what would this likely cost me? most of the imperfections are just scratches on the outter rim edge but some are actually gouged in pretty deep.

If you go to the hardware store and pick up some emry cloth (sandpaper for metal), you can just use your fingers to sand back the aluminum rim on the wheel. I did this to my silver SS wheel when I got a deep cut by scraping a curb. It worked beautifully and you couldn't even tell anything ever happened.
The aluminum is very soft so it comes off easy with your fingers, just be careful not to touch the cloth to anything you dont want to sand down (like the middle of the wheel). Also, DO NOT use a dremel. Well, maybe to polish it when your done, but not to sand.
I have searched into shops repairing the rims, and they will actually weld a new rim onto the exsiting and sand that one down to meet the original height. From what I have found it is fairly expensive.
