That explains EVERYTHING... sorry if my comments offended you.

My surprise was due to them "sponsoring" a car with the stats listed in your sig... I'm used to seeing highly modded cars getting sponsored.

That is all

Exactly what bearing would that have on sponsorship?

I have seen many sponsorships that are not what you would call directly car related....yet seems somehow people still go with it.

I think this is one of those few cases in which stickers do equal horsepower. Horsepower in the form of a wicked Vortech Supercharger system that is

Way to go Aaron, they look fine for what you use the car for. Hopefully over time you can "jazz" them up a bit to look more race car-ish and match the overall look of the car.

No prob - sorry, didn't mean to sound assholish

Nothing umm 'nice' about the car really - i'm just not into that cruise in stuff - I like the track plain and simple.

It's not very fast but I race bracket so it's all about being consistent. Fun car to take to the track as a hobby you know?

Nope - not car oriented - but it's still a business. It's like a radio station advertising on the side of a bus - what does radio have to do with public transportation? You can say 'well there's a radio in cars' but the followup to that is 'well, most people use a car to go get their hair cut'

Canton - no biggie dude - I think the guys maybe thought the sponsorship was for car shows or something.

Strictly race guys.

When are you getting home anyway? I have this damn money and I hate carrying cash - you know this. I'm about to slip it under your door or something lol

Thanks Dustin - it's actually cool to me that these guys are wanting to sponsor the car. Word is that big shot wants to sponsor me and a rim shop has already commited - I have to go down there with the part #'s for the rims I want. Probably going to go with some Convo Pros because the 7.5's will fit over my LS1 rears without grinding.

Re: How do these sponsorship pics look on my car?

what happens when you put that Vortech on and your engine blows (hypothetically)? Will the sponsors want thier money back because you can't afford to get the car running again, or are the sponsors just forking the money over and taking your word for it that you actually are going to the track every weekend?

Personally though, I would be kinda embarassed to be driving around with a bunch of advertisements on my car......at the track it wouldnt be bad....but cruising around and at hangouts it wouldnt be too good imo.

But hey, I think most of the guys who are putting you down are just jealous they can't get all this free stuff

Sponsors are well aware of the problems that could arise - the agreement that was made was that they will get 1 year of racing - if the engine goes, when it comes back up they get the remainder of their time. Being that these sponsors are friends of mine made the deal much easier.

No offense to guys that go to hangouts but i'm 32 with a wife and 3 kids - I don't do hangouts anymore. Any free time that I have is devoted to the family - and none of us (wife/kids) were ever into car shows and hangouts. We're track fanatics.

EDIT: And the jealousy thing - I was starting to think that as well - but now I think it's more the fact that the post was moved to appearance - a section that is devoted to making your car very nice to look at. My car doesn't belong in appearance lol - it's a REAL street driven car, dings, scratches, paint chips, dead bugs, etc....looks great at the tree tho

About getting sponsored...he has went out and got some people to actually give him cash in hand. Until you actually try to get someone else to give you money to spend on something...don't be knocking.

About pricing on the stuff...it is a mute point.
As long as we are correcting people, the expression is "moot point"

Not bashing but it looks like a delivery vehicle. Kind of like a utility van, just not a van.

Re: How do these sponsorship pics look on my car?

I would have to agree that it is in the wrong section. That being said, if the enjoyment you get from your car is the 'mechanics' and not the 'visual', then what matters is you like it.
This car is about driving, not 'look at me' on the boulevard.
Good job getting sponsors. I bet you guys would put a KENWOOD sticker in the window if they gave you an amp, subs, and a dvd player.(If thats your thing). Or how about a HOUSE OF COLORS sticker for a nice pearl paint job? Its the same kind of thing.
