Post How to change color of dash? What kind of material is it?

I'm converting my dark gray interior to black, and I am pretty much done except for the dash. Obviously the piece closer to the front of the windshield is plastic, so I can use the same paint as I did on the other plastic pieces. My question is, what kind of material is the rest of the dash and how can I make it black? Thanks for helping me out!

Is it simulated leather? I see VHT makes a spray on dye for simulated leather...would this work? I really don't want anything that sprays on, seems like it would be a pita to do. Also, has anyone ever dyed their leather seats? what did you use?

Its actually a soft plastic. The best thing to use is Vinyl paint from any auto store. I painted my doors in it, it holds up well to abuse, and is flexible enough.
