Great write up. I bought bulbs and thought they were the wrong ones so I contacted the ebay seller and they gave me a refund and told me to just keep the bulbs. I put those same bulbs in this morning would have never known if it wasnt for your write thanks. But now I gotta contact them so I can give them their money back.lol

I need to do this on my car. Headlights need to be completely revamped. I think id go with the cool blue just because I like the color. Although that 40 HID kit does look nice, not sure how it would look installed. I want to keep a factor look in the daytime.

I'll be switching to silverstars when these burn out. The blue shade looks nice, but the angle or whatever isn't great. They work only about as good as what bulbs were in the housings to begin with.

Re: How To: Change bulbs in '93-'97 headlamps

Just bought 4 mint OEM headlights for my car.

Going to get all the metal parts sandblasted and powdercoated black.

As for bulbs, undecided. I know I want a blue tint for the low beams, even if I have to suffer a bit.

Any write ups for HID's?

Does a 40 HID kit last a few years or do they die right away?

I used 10k HIDs for mine and it works great, just tear the concealed lights out and clean the old rubber seal out and then take RTV sealant and spread it inside the hole and carefully I mean carefully put the HID light in the hole and let it dry for the day and there you go. there are write-ups for it maybe try LS1tech but there is clips on the old lights that you will have to remove or trim up. its an easy process.

Yeah, I know: thread from the dead… I could have posted on Facebook, but there you will find nothing after a few days/weeks anymore…
First I tried the Philips cool blue HB4 bulb, then I saw a test where they stated that the Osram Night Breaker Laser is better. So I got me a pair each in HB4 and HB3.
I was kinda disapointed with the beam pattern of the Osram HB4 (the Philips was wider) so I put the HB3 in the low beam housing a was surprised. Clear the light output is higher but also the pattern on the wall looked compromising so I put them with some silicon in the housing.
This morning some real life test, like day and night…
I could have gone with LED's, but I don't think it is a good idea without a clear cutoff in the lens.
Will post some pictures later.
