Re: Hood Scoops

I don't have any pictures but there was a camaro running around here awhile back with a bond on scoop... It didn't look seamless and you could tell it didn't really belong. That being said it looked fine when it was in motion. I vote no, but there are worse things you could do to your car.

Re: Hood Scoops

i would say save up and spend the extra money on a real hood, scoops like that have a bad tendency to crack back out.

edit- i was just looking at that one again, it looks like that one just attaches to the surface, I thought they had to be molded in, but it looks like that one doesnt, so i guess cracking wouldnt be a problem, but i would think it would always look like it was just setting on top of the hood (like the rs spoiler for example)

YUK! And, Carbon Fiber... double yuk!! With shipping on that scoop you will pay close to $300ish. Not worth it in my opinion. Triple that amount and get the real deal. These kinds of purchases are what tax returns are for. Something to think about for next year if you don't have the cash now. I bought one from http://slponline.com/ and it is awesome!! Great investment. The same hood you get from GM. Take into consideration what the others have said as well. You want the real thing or just a glue on???

Re: Hood Scoops

Everyone, let's slow it down a sec. I never said I was going to do it. I just wanted opinions on it because I didnt want to judge it concidering Ive never seen it on a car before. With that said buying a new hood is not a option I'm willing to entertain. The hood would cost $600+ then another $300-$400+ to get it here. Ill take it from the back before I pay that much for a hood.

I'd LOVE an SS hood.....I love the look of the scoop. BUT, I'd rather go without it instead of getting fake glue-ons. You can spot those things from a mile away.

True. Cant believe the thought even crossed my mind. I remember alot of Honda guys in my area use to do this and it did look out of place. Thanks for the opinions everyone.

Re: Hood Scoops

I've seen a few cars with L88 hood scoops molded in to the hood and they look killer on 4th gens.

Re: Hood Scoops

It would look like crap in between the other two "scoops" that are already on the hood.
