high rise spoiler on a formula???

the high rise spoiler onna 99 formula-- is it possible and what would it take,
cause i've been looking at a 99 formula
and i would like to put the ram air Ho hood from SLP on it along with a high rise spoiler on it.
someone toldme that io can't do it unles i get a whole new hatch cause the current wing on a formula is molded into it.

Yes, it's possible and having to buy the whole hatch may be correct too, I can't say for sure though.

But...have you ever seen a Firebird w/ the T/A spoiler? If you have then you obviously like it, so ok. If not, you need to see one first because I didn't think it'd look too bad until I actually saw it. It wasn't hideous or anything but it just didn't look right at all.

If you really want the T/A spoiler then you're gonna need to get the GFXs and rear bumper cover as well...to make it look "right."

This is JMHO.

If you like that look with the high spoiler than by all means...do it. I almost did it on mine out of frustration since theres no other nice spoilers available and I hated the way the rear looked.

My company is currently wrapping up our prototyped 4th gen firebird drag spoiler. Below is a quick pic I had from a few weeks back. These are more for hard core applications but look mean as hell once connected to the rear bumper. These will be ready for sale in the weeks to come.
We have this one on our turbo WS6 (pics in the link in the sig)

I think this is the only other option out right now besides the TA hatch and the Wings West lip spoiler. But your friend is right...you cant put the ta spoiler on the rear of a formula...i guess you could but im sure it would look really bad.

good luck with whatever route you choose

i think that a formula would look great with a t/a wing on the back. i wouldnt mind finding just the wing and putting it on the camaro, people call me crazy for it, but what do i care what they think. i dont need to please other people because i dont care about them.

btw, you would have to replace the whole hatch, not the glass, and not the struts, but the whole hatch has to go. the formula "wing" is molded into the hatch and cant be removed. other than that, the replacement will be easy.

Um, that is about the only difference between the Formula and the Trans Am. There is no wannabe, it is the same car.
if you dont have the car yet why would you bother taking a formula and adding the nose, side skirts, rear bumper and hatch to have a car you could have just bought to begin with

and there is such a thing as a wanna be trans am...if you have a formula and you WANT it to be a trans am than i would call that a wanna be trans am...reguardless of the minimal difference between the two cars...buy what you want and be happy with it...adding a TA spoiler to a formy is one thing but there's no point in changing anything else

now that we have taken this way further than the original question i'll shut up

bad thing about the spoiler is you have to get the entire hatch

i dont understand? maybe we just dont agree on this?

you're saying all trans am's start as formula's? so you're saying they take a v6 body put a v8 in it then change the body to a trans am? i dont think thats how they do it....

this is how I see it: you have a formula...you throw some trans am bumpers on it because you want it to look like a trans am right? so how it that not a wanna be?

maybe the term wanna be sounds harsh....

what was GM's reasoning for making a formula and a trans am anyway?
