Who'd you order from? Was it a ready made kit or did you do the conversion on you factory lights?

Yeah, that's how I did the 9005/9006 conversion on mine. If some1 cwould start to manufacture a euro clear headlight the same size as ours with 9005/9005 fittings in the back I'd be in. An hid conv. on those would rock!

I got a question. I just picked up some "xenon plasma blue" bulbs and converted my high beams. They are 12v/100w 8000k. Now i'm no electrical guru i'm just reading what's on the box. I've read about a balast. What does a balast do? These new ones are the same connection as my stockers. Am i going to have to get a balast or some type of wiring upgrade? I plugged one in and left it on for 5-6 minutes to see if the wires got warm and they didn't. Sorry to sound like a newb but like i said not very electrially inclined here.

Would this work on a LT1 Trans Am as well? Could you do a quick write up on the sealed beam conversion? The TA lighting is much better than the Z, but it could still use an upgrade...and the prices on 813motoring.com were not bad at all. Thanks!!

OH...yours looks sweet to...looks like it should've come from the factory that way!

Here's a link to the sealed beam conversion. He just did it with HID'S basically.
http://performanceworks1.com/headlightmod.htm

I must have missed something when I clicked the 813 motoring link, anyway, If I REMEMBER correctly the LT1 T/A has one large headlight, correct? If i'm right then you would end up with just a low beam. I think some of the fancy HID conversions are available in highs and lows but they are pricey.

Yes, one headlight that houses high/low beams...and yes, I would lose the high beams unless I went with the more expensive kits.

Thanks

It would be a good idea to pick up a upgrade harness with heavier guage wire but ballasts are for HID's not high watt bulbs. You can get the harness upgrades on ebay all day for under 20 bucks. It would be less likely to get hot and melt and would carry current to those high watt bulbs with less resistance.

Do they blind people? I'd like more light but every kit so far I've seen cannot cut-off the light at a certain angle like factory ones do so they don't blind people. Also why most conversions are not street legal.
