Hid Advice Please

This week I am going to purchase a set of HID low beam (9006 style bulb) and HID fog lights (880 style bulb). The 9006 style conversion has already been completed for the low beams. It is to my understanding that the 880 HID kits will plug into my factory harness and can use my stock fog lights. Is this correct?? Also what temperature would your recommend—6000K or 8000K? I want the brightest without going BLUE!

-Thanks for your time.

6000k but 5000k will be the brightest, once you go over 6k it starts going blue and then purple.

Yea I was thinking 6000K would be better than the 8000K but wanted to confirm. I was going to use the same temperature for both. Would you use 6000K for both low beams and fogs or use the 4300K for the fogs?

Use the same color temperature for both low and fog lights. Otherwise it looks like a soup sandwich. I used 6000K for lowbeams and they're bright. I think the 6000K is the best way to go. They're not blue. they're super white.

Technically 4300K is the brightest, but I have 5500K in my Subaru, and it's what I would call 'Super' White (and Bright, although I do have a 55W kit).... So I think you'll be fine with 6000K.

Well two kits will be on the way as of monday. I'll take plenty of install pics to show the result. 96z my kits are 35 watt. I started to custom order the 55 watt kits but thought the 35 was sufficient. The main reason I did not is because I will not be using the correct projector lenses. I know it is going to have plenty of "wash out" and didn't want to give it more. Ive done quite a few custom setups on different things like this so I know I'll have it right. If I have to, I will space my brackets so the proper level of light is aimed down. Not sure yet if the factory adjustments will be enough. Its been a while since I have taken a full set of pictures and I have done many upgrades/changes so I am long overdue .

good choice with the 6000K... that is actually the brightest temp. Less than 6000K has a yellow hue which, add color saturation, which takes away from the light... same goes for more than 6000K.

In regards to the 55w kit vs. the 35w. kit, again you made the right choice going with the factoy wattage. Anything over 35w generages more heat which could cause the headlight housings to melt, wiring harness to burn up, wires to short out, and much more!

with all that said, I cant wait to see the pics!!
