Hey paint guys...

I want to remove the hood liner but I am worried about damaging the paint above due to the extra heat. The hottest would be in summer w/ headers. Would doing this damage the finish on the hood? Thanks

I took mine off, and you won't get hotter than mine was, believe me! I haven't had any problems, and many people have done this without problems. If it got that hot, the intake on 98+ would not be plastic.

try doing a search. i think i read a thread some time ago where this topic brought in quite a few opinions. but, from what i can remember, the function of the liner may have more to do with smothering a fire rather than protecting the paint on the hood. hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses. I tried a search before and after looking at like 20 pages I had to give up.

TTT

I know that TTT isn't very popular but it's my first time ever doing it. Sorry. I just want to get some more opinions before I decide on what to do.
